MEET THE EDITORS

Paige

President - she/they

Hey I’m Paige, herder of the nerds! I love chatting about any nerdy interest, even if it’s not my own, but the big three for me are Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Heathers, and horror! I’m a huge fan of physical media whether it’s my DvDs, boxsets or growing Junji Ito collection. Also have to be true to my inner Classicist and admit my degree is just as much one of my nerd-terests. PS Fall Out Boy, I’m obsessed.

Tilly

Editor - she/her

Hi! I’m Matilda and I’m the editor of Nerdherder! I can be found intensely explaining messed up fictional relationships, TV adaptations, and misunderstood women, both recreationally and within my English degree. I love queer sci fi/fantasy and gothic literature - and too much of my time is spent talking about vampires and trying to make people watch the Interview with the Vampire series and read The Locked Tomb series.

Jas

Treasurer - she/her

G’day! I’m Jas, Nerdherder’s treasurer and Paige’s right hand man. When I’m not climbing up a wall or swimming in the ocean, I’m probably watching a movie or learning a new sad gay song on guitar. I enjoy finding parallels in niche aspects of cinema like the symbolism of closing doors, the empathy of New Zealand accents, and the exposition at dinner table scenes (essay to come!).

Amelia

Outreach Officer - she/her

Hi, I’m Amelia! I love anything fantasy, especially Lord of the Rings and Dungeons and Dragons - I’m currently in the middle of DM’ing a 2 year long game that shows no signs of ending soon. I have a passion for horror novels and films, even if I have to watch them hiding behind a pillow - my absolute favourite is Jennifer's Body, and I will defend it forever. I’m also a big fan of Doctor Who and any TV procedural, the more camp and predictable the better!

Holly

Designer - she/her

Hello, I’m Holly, and from the ages of 11 to 13 I wore a fez everywhere I went because the Doctor told me it was cool, and I took him at his word. Doctor Who was my introduction to the world of nerd culture and creating cinematic magic, and since then this has taken up a solid 85% of my brain. I love old movies (Roman Holiday and Bringing Up Baby my beloveds), semi-niche period dramas about vets or detectives or spies, anything involving badass women or a found family, and yapping about all the nerdy things I love.

Meg

Social Media Officer - she/they

Hi! I’m Meg and I’m Nerdherder’s social media officer! I’ve been a nerd ever since watching BBC Merlin permanently altered my brain chemistry and unsurprisingly, I love medievalisms, fantasy media, and any and all art of the period, hence doing an art history degree. I’m unashamed in my love of the Twilight franchise, and I’m also a beginner gamer - specifically Stardew Valley and The Last of Us (the duality of video games!) When I’m not being a nerd, I also rock climb, crochet, and attempt to not kill the plants in the Newnham permaculture garden.

Magdalena

Technical Editor & Web Designer - she/her

Hi, I’m Mags! I love fantasy RPG video games, especially the Elder Scrolls and Dragon Age series, and I’ve clocked far too many hours in my Steam library to also be doing a Cambridge degree. I’m always thinking at least a little bit about the capacity of video games to immerse and entertain, as well as tell stories that can move beyond that initial goal– Jacob Geller is my favourite video essayist. I also have three Tolkien-themed tattoos, I crochet, and I have every Linda Ronstadt album on vinyl. Predictably, I am an ASNC.
